Deciding to embark on academic studies is a significant step. We hope that the counseling questionnaire here will help you to determine the direction of your studies at the Open University.
In the first part of the questionnaire, please fill in all the personal details.
In the second part of the questionnaire, fill in the background details and prior education.
1) High school studies and mathematics level: These details are relevant before taking quantitative courses.
2) Accreditation of prior academic studies: If you have taken college courses and wish to get credit for them, you can apply to the Accreditation Committee, which will consider your request.
The purpose of studies at the Open University: The Open University offers academic programs of study as well as courses for enrichment. If you plan to study for a degree, you must take courses of a scope and level required by the program you choose.
Deciding on an undergraduate program of studies: The choice of a field of study and a program of studies depends on a great many factors. Ask yourself: What interests you? What suits you, on the basis of your prior studies and your talents? What is your reason for studying? The choice you make now does not commit you, but will help you focus the choice of a first course.
Selecting a first course: To choose your first course, go to the table (in Hebrew) here. The table lists courses which require no prior academic knowledge, and are recommended for creating a knowledge base in your chosen field.
If you are undecided regarding a field of study, try to choose a course which is common to several disciplines.
Course descriptions: Before you select a course, click on its name to view its description.
English language requirements: To be awarded a Bachelor’s degree from the Open University, students must demonstrate evidence of English language proficiency. There are several ways to fulfill this requirement. See details here.
Questions and comments: If you have questions or comments, feel free to write us, and we will respond promptly.
