The Center for the Study of Eretz Israel and its Yishuv

The Center for the Study of the Eretz Israel and its Yishuv was formally dedicated in 2006 as a partnership between the Open University and Yad Ben-Zvi, Its activities are administered by an academic committee. The aim of the Center is to initiate and encourage diverse research and teaching activities on the history of Eretz Israel in various areas, by:
- Developing courses on Eretz Israel
- Initiating study programs on Eretz Israel that are approved by University bodies and the Council for Higher Education
- Encouraging faculty research and providing support by awarding research grants and scholarships
- Awarding scholarships to encourage OUI students to write seminar papers on topics related to Eretz Israel
- Granting awards to OUI students for outstanding seminar papers
- Conducting seminars with the participation of researchers of Israel Studies from Israel and abroad in various disciplines
- Conducting symposia for the general public on topics related to the study of Eretz Israel
- Publishing books on topics about the study of Eretz Israel and the Yishuv
The activities of the Center depend on donations.
