Research Activity in the Department of Sociology, Political Science and Communication

Theoretical, empirical and applied research is performed in the Department of Sociology, Political Science and Communications in various areas of sociology and anthropology, political science and international relations, and in communications - in both the international and the Israeli context.

In addition, researchers in the department are engaged in studying democracy in general and Israeli democracy in particular, as well as cultural studies in the general and the Israeli contexts.

Among others, faculty members perform research on such topics as relationships between society and state, relationships between economic and political processes, studies of aspects of local government in Israel, analyses of socio-political discourse, Israel's political-legal culture, and the links between culture and nationalism. Research is also carried out on areas of genocide, human rights, and civil rights, as well as relationships between Jews and Arabs in the State of Israel.
