Registration guidelines for overseas students

Students studying abroad will register to the Open University in accordance with the general guidelines noted here (in Hebrew) and the special guidelines specified below.

The late registration date for students studying abroad usually differs from the late registration date for students residing in Israel (see registration dates here). Students who nonetheless register after the late registration date must take into consideration the possibility (which increases as registration approaches the beginning of the semester) that the study materials may only reach them after the semester begins. In this case it is the student's responsibility to catch up on the material and the student will have no cause for any claim against the Open University or for asking for the relaxation of any conditions whatsoever.

The course offering for students abroad is smaller than that offered to students in Israel. The list of courses available to students abroad can be found in the Table of Courses.

Continuing students who studied in Israel and wish to register as students studying abroad must fill in the details required for students abroad in the relevant section of the "registration form for a new student" which can be downloaded here. Please indicate the following on the form: "continuing student in Israel requesting to register as a student studying abroad".

Students who wish to enroll in a course on a conditional basis because they have not fulfilled all the admission requirements must take into consideration that the materials will only be mailed to them after all conditions have been met. Therefore, the material may only arrive after the beginning of the semester. In this case it will be the student's responsibility to catch up on the material and the student will have no cause for any claim against the Open University or for asking for the relaxation of any conditions whatsoever. Students should also take into consideration that if they do not meet the admission requirements they may receive notification of this when it is already too late to change their enrollment to another course. In this case students will be required to defer their studies or cancel their registration, and pay the fee that these actions require.

Students must inform the registration center in writing of any change in address, telephone number, fax and details of their contact person in Israel, as well as the name and location of the diplomatic mission in which they wish to take the examinations.
