Acquiring appropriate learning skills at the outset of university studies enables students to cope with the academic requirements of the Open University.
The Open University, through the Study Guidance Unit, offers training in improving learning skills. The general training workshop covers getting organized for learning, effective reading of academic material, summarizing and processing information verbally or with the help of charts and tables, analyzing questions and formulating answers and preparing for an exam.
In addition, workshops are available for specific courses: Introduction to Microeconomics (10131), General Biology I (20118), Introduction to Psychology (10136) and Mass Communication (10408). For further information (in Hebrew), click here.
The unit also offers training in writing seminar papers.
Learning skills training is offered in workshops and individually at most study centers. For further information (in Hebrew), click here. To request such training at a center at which it is not normally offered, contact 972-9-7781205.
