Financial Assistance

The Open University Scholarship Committee, headed by the Dean of Students, grants financial assistance to Open University and School of Technology students. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the student's financial and familial needs, and all applications are considered. Additional factors include scope of studies and academic achievement.

High school students who have financial difficulty may apply for a scholarship provided they meet the following criteria (the complete and binding criteria are specified in the "Clarifications" section that accompanies the scholarship application form):

1.

New students - successfully completed at least two assignments in the course in which they are enrolled (students may apply when they register; the application will be considered after receipt of the assignment grades).

2.

Continuing students - successfully completed at least one Open University academic or technological course.

3.

The student is enrolled in at least one course when submitting the request.

High school students may apply for financial assistance throughout the year.

An application form not accompanied by the required documents and/or not filled out properly will not be processed and will be returned to the student.

Scholarship application forms can be downloaded here.
