Introduction

The Open University enables talented high school students to enroll in academic courses and to begin their studies towards a Bachelor's degree parallel to their high school studies. Academic studies are demanding and require effort, perseverance and self-discipline. Therefore, studies at the Open University are only suitable for talented and highly motivated students who are prepared to invest about two hours daily in academic studies and to contend with the difficulties of the self-study method. It is important to note that the courses were originally developed for adult students. Nonetheless, our experience indicates that high school students can successfully cope with Open University courses and accumulate academic credits while in high school.
