History

The original version of this website, developed in 2004, used the MDL Chime plug-in for molecular visualization. Drawing symmetry elements was done using a Microsoft-Excel based module that users downloaded to their PCs. In 2009, the website was rewritten to work with the Jmol applet for molecular visualization and all the tools are now online. The new site is the final project of Yael Levi and Ira Bury, as part of their studies toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Jaffa. The project was supervised by Dr. Tal Hassner, of the department of Computer Science and Dr. Inbal Tuvi-Arad, of the department of Natural Sciences, both at the Open University of Israel.
