The course presents the ethical and legal basis for freedom of the press and communication in Israel. In the framework of the course, students are introduced to the laws, legal precedents and arrangements (formal and informal) that regulate the activity of the media in Israel and journalistic tasks. The course relates to the origin of the legal infrastructure and its historical development. It discusses the implications of the security situation, the development of journalists’ ethical codes, and the development of new media.
At the end of the course, students should understand and be able to implement the legal and ethical tools that relate to media operation in Israel.
