10408 Introduction to Mass Media
Credits: 6 intermediate credits in Communication or in Sociology & Anthropology
The course is based on Hebrew translations of McQuail's Mass Communication Theory (5th ed.), by D. McQuail (Sage, 2005), and Key Themes in Media Theory, by D. Laughey (McGraw-Hill, 2007).
Objectives: To examine one of the central phenomena of modern society; To provide basic tools and concepts in the field of mass media indirectly; To serve as a basis for additional courses in the field.
