The course presents the range of topics with which Industrial Engineering and Management deals: production planning and control, production systems planning and service, design of information systems, decision-making, and project management. It reviews basic methods and models, prevalent terminology in the field, and software tools that support applications in the various areas. The course materials include simulation software for decision-making in operations and production environments.
Topics: Introduction, organizations and structure of organizations, project management, information and its use, marketing considerations, managing acquisitions and inventory, timing, planning supply requisitions, managing an integrative system – ERP, human resources and handling.
