A large number of academic personnel cooperate in course development at the Open University. Below are descriptions only of the teaching staff with whom students have direct and continuous contact while they are taking a course.
Each course has a coordinator who is responsible for academic and administrative planning of the teaching, for coordinating all the activities related to studies in a course, and their supervision.
Students may contact the course coordinator to discuss academic or administrative issues. The office hours of the course coordinators and their contact information are provided to students before the beginning of the semester.
Students enrolled in a course are assigned by the course coordinator to a study group headed by a tutor. At tutorial meetings, on the course website, or through telephone consultations, the tutor guides the students in all matters relating to their studies, answers questions and assesses assignments.
