Organizational Structure

The Council

The supreme authority of the University is the Council. The Council, headed by the Chancellor, determines University policy, supervises the implementation of its decisions and administers the affairs and assets of the University.

The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is appointed by the Council from among its members and is responsible for planning, implementation, direction, and supervision. The Executive Committee is responsible to the Council. The Chairman of the Executive Committee reports to the Council on the Committee's activities.

The Academic Committee

The Academic Committee, headed by the president of the University, consists of professors from universities throughout Israel and Open University faculty. It is the academic authority of the University and is responsible for maintaining the University’s high standards of academic activity. The Academic Committee determines the academic programs of the University as well as the content of its courses, and establishes academic regulations for the University, subject to the approval of the Council.

The Faculty Council

The Faculty Council is composed of all appointed senior faculty as well as representatives of course coordinators and editors. The Faculty Council examines and discusses academic issues and affairs of the University. Its recommendations and suggestions are submitted to the Academic Committee.
