55168 Practicum (Practical Training) in Teaching Literature 1

Prerequisite: Teaching Literature: Methodology

The aim of the practicum is to enable the student teacher to observe and experience teaching Literature in high school. It includes observation of Literature lessons in a high school and practice teaching. The student teacher is assigned a mentor and teaching sessions are followed by a critical discussion. As part of the practicum, students are required to write a final paper describing and justifying their choice of a method for teaching a certain literary work in a specific class.


1No academic credits are awarded for this course, but it is equivalent to 10 semester hours.
