20102 Introduction to Computer Programming 1

Credits: 4 introductory credits in Sciences - General

Prerequisites: none

The main purpose of the course is to acquaint the students with intellectual tools required for understanding the general principles of computer operation, the way the computer is used to solve problems, ways of thinking and analysis for using the computer.

Topics: Algorithms and flow charts; programming in Qbasic; representation of information in computer logic and its use in programming and storing information; sub-routines; data processing; information representation; computer applications; spreadsheets.


1The course is not intended for students majoring in Computer Science. These students must take one of the following courses: Introduction to Computer Science or Introduction to Computer Science using Pascal.
