10910 Consolidated Financial Statements 1

Credits: 4 advanced credits in Accounting

Prerequisites: 36 credits, including Financial Theory: Financial Management of Business Firms and Intermediate Financial Accounting II. Students must also fulfill all English requirements and take bibliographic instruction in the Library.

The course aims to acquaint students with basic accounting concepts and principles as they apply to consolidated financial statements. It focuses on a survey of the conditions necessary for consolidating firms’ financial statements, application of various methods, accounting principles customary in Israel and elsewhere, and complex consolidation issues. The course is updated according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS 2010).

Topics: Company consolidation; Budgeting value; Stand-alone and consolidated financial statements; Changes in the rate of holdings.


1Students who are taking this course in the framework of a program of study toward a degree in Accounting with a Division of Studies in Economics must write a seminar paper in this course unless they have already written a seminar paper in Advanced Financial Accounting (10922).
